Economic Freedom Is on the Ballot for Black Americans
Kamala Harris is offering tangible help. Donald Trump isn’t.
A new way forward.

To be clear, Black Americans are overwhelmingly backing Harris in the election. Still, some data suggest a growing number of Black Americans are switching to Trump — many citing the economy as the reason.
It makes sense that the economy is the paramount issue for Black voters because Black Americans feel changes in the economy more deeply than other groups. When grocery and gas prices rise, our pockets are hit hardest. As housing prices skyrocket, we’re least likely to achieve homeownership. When the labor market is slow, we lose the most jobs. We are prevented from building generational wealth at every turn.
