Stellantis Shuffle Won't Solve Deeper Problems

The embattled automaker needs harmony, not more ruthlessness

After being assailed from all sides over plunging profits and overzealous cost cutting, Stellantis NV and its chief executive officer, Carlos Tavares, are attempting to move on, but it’s hardly a fresh start.

Announcing a sweeping management shakeup, the CEO again used his favorite adjective – “Darwinian” – to describe the auto industry’s wrenching changes and the need for greater focus and renewal.
