There’s a lot of geopolitical risk around. Most of the world’s people will get to vote on their nation’s leader over the next 12 months. Does it matter? After 2023, a great year for risk assets despite war in Europe and in the Middle East and ever greater confrontation between the US and China, it’s tempting to say that it doesn’t. If stocks can rally in such conditions, why care?
