Aerospace Snags Keep Plane Repair Shops Humming
This is a golden age for aircraft spare parts and maintenance services, but how long can it last?

The post-pandemic deficits in aviation infrastructure have created something of a golden age for airplane spare parts, repairs and maintenance services. Airlines have been slow to retire older jets that need more frequent tuneups as supply-chain snarls delay deliveries of new ones. They’re flying their existing fleets as much as possible to meet a resurgence in travel demand and operating with more buffer capacity to cope with air-traffic control constraints, labor shortages and volatile weather. But as the revenge travel phenomenon starts to run out of sizzle, at least domestically, and plane and engine makers make progress on new shipments, this might be as good as it gets for the aerospace aftermarket.
