The New York Times is certainly not failing at getting the receipts.

By now you have probably heard a lot about (if not quite read every last word of) the Times’ epic exploration of just how much President Donald Trump relied on his father’s money and tax-law gymnastics to build and cling to his wealth. (Matt Levine writes the “variety and brazenness” of those gymnastics are impressive.) It reveals just how cracked the foundation of Trump’s personal brand is upon close inspection. Bloomberg Opinion’s Tim O’Brien has some personal experience with that, having exposed some of Trump’s dissembling about money a long time ago, for which Trump unsuccessfully sued him.
