The Trump administration made two big moves on health care Thursday, with the president signing an executive order and then directing the Department of Health and Human Services to cut off payments to insurers.

I'll leave the details to the experts, but the general sense of it is that these moves will degrade some popular aspects of the Affordable Care Act. They aren't likely to produce more, better or less expensive coverage, or even save money for the government. They are instead likely to destabilize the Obamacare markets and otherwise make health insurance options worse for many people.
