How to Beat Obama on Foreign Policy
Oct. 18 (Bloomberg) -- Does President Barack Obamahave the next, and final, debate in the bag? Politico’sMike Allen said yesterday that the town-hall debate atHofstra University on Oct. 16 represented “GovernorRomney’s last, best chance, because the next debate isforeign policy, where President Obama is strong.”
It’s true that Obama is considered by many to bestrong on foreign policy and national security. And he hassome notable achievements overseas. First, of course, isthe raid that killed Osama bin Laden. The politicization ofthis issue can’t obscure the bravery it took for thepresident to order the operation. If it had gone sideways,Obama would have been looking at his own Desert One -- thedebacle that undid the presidency of Jimmy Carter.
