Wrong. These tiresome debates obscure the near-consensus inWashington on taxes: Republicans don’t want to raise taxes onanyone, and Democrats don’t want to raise taxes on almostanyone. The argument between the two parties rages over thatsliver of territory between “anyone” and “almost anyone.”
