March 28 (Bloomberg) -- The basic contours of MittRomney’s approach to Social Security reform are coming intofocus, and the results aren’t pretty.
Because Romney insists that any change include noadditional revenue, his strategy is forced to rely onexcessive benefit cuts that would undermine financialsecurity for future retirees. A much better approach wouldmix benefit reductions and revenue increases, as we haveproposed in the past, and as polls show the public prefers.
