Feb. 28 (Bloomberg) -- For many years, Palestinian politicsturned on a single idea: Palestine was stolen by the Jews, andso the Jews must be expelled -- “thrown into the sea,” theexpression went.
Shortly before the Six-Day War in 1967, the chairman of thePalestine Liberation Organization, Ahmed Shukairy, said thecombined Arab armies, for which he assumed imminent victory,would allow those Jews who survived the coming conflagration toremain in Palestine. He added, however, “I estimate that none ofthem will survive.”
