From Speedsters to SUVs, Standouts From the New York Auto Show

Although the floor wasn’t packed with exciting debuts, Koenigsegg, Genesis, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz—even Lincoln and Subaru—still managed to rev our engines.

With BMW’s big absence and the Shanghai Auto Show happening concurrently, the New York International Auto Show lacked a powerful punch this year in terms of exciting debuts.

But North America’s first and most-attended auto show, which dates back to 1900, still featured important, if less-than-supercar-stunning reveals from Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Porsche. Other brands such as Kia, Genesis, and Volkswagen even showed some futuristic concepts, including a cartoon-style beach buggy, while Lamborghini and Pininfarina brought over supercars making their North American debut—though, in a sign of the times, they appeared only at off-site events, rather than on the show floor.
