US President Donald Trump said China is willing to support negotiations with Iran as Washington pushes for a diplomatic solution to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
As he was leaving Beijing, the US president told reporters on Air Force One that he and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping discussed a range of issues including Taiwan and a planned $14 billion US arms deal to the island, as well as the 11-week war in Iran.
While Xi declared the two-day visit a “historic” landmark in US-China relations, traders sent oil prices higher and stocks lower because of the absence any clear outcome on major issues.
