Good morning and happy Friday, it’s James here in Canberra. The big news for the region is the meeting that took place yesterday in Beijing between Presidents Trump and Xi, complete with goose-stepping soldiers and flag-waving children. Of course, the summit was meant to happen earlier in the year, but was postponed by the US due to the Iran war — which Trump says Xi has offered help with. Meanwhile back in Australia, supermarket Coles was found to have misled shoppers and Qantas is taking advantage of soaring oil prices to turn the screws on Air New Zealand. — James Mayger, Government Reporter.
