Germany Plays Down Tensions With Trump Over Iran, Trade

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul played down recent tensions between US President Donald Trump and German leader Friedrich Merz, telling Bloomberg TV it was “unfortunately a big misunderstanding.”

In an interview with Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait today in Berlin, Germany’s top diplomat said his country supports the US aim to ensure Iran can’t obtain a nuclear weapon.
