I’m Ashutosh Joshi in Mumbai with a quick mid-week check ahead of Wednesday’s open.

Local equities may see a bit of a recovery after Tuesday’s drop, helped by positive global cues. Asian stocks have climbed to a record and crude oil prices have declined after US President Donald Trump signaled progress toward a final agreement with Iran. Shares of Larsen & Toubro will be in focus after it reported March-quarter profit below estimates and warned that the Middle East crisis could weigh on business in coming quarters. Don’t miss our section on how analysts are viewing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic election win in the West Bengal state as a catalyst for industrial stocks.
