President Donald Trump is being “humiliated” by Iran two months into a war, which the US and Israel started but Washington appears unable to end. That’s the stark assessment of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who also called out what he said was the apparent lack of an exit strategy from the White House.

Frustration is boiling over in Berlin about a war Europe was never consulted on and the effects of which, in the form of surging energy prices, are undermining Merz’s efforts to revive the continent’s biggest economy.
