Israel and Lebanon will extend their ceasefire by three weeks, Donald Trump said, creating space to work on a long-term deal. The US president’s blitz of social media posts is hindering Iran’s willingness to engage in more peace talks, according to officials familiar with the matter. A US-sanctioned supertanker loaded with 2 million barrels of Iranian oil today attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz, which remains effectively shut.
