Morning, I’m Louise Moon from Bloomberg UK’s breaking news team, bringing you up to speed on today’s top business stories.

Motor fuel prices jumped 8.7% in March, in the largest monthly gain since 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine. Rising costs at the pump aren’t a huge surprise, given how the Iran war has sent energy prices spiralling. But it’s a huge spike and serves to illustrate just how hard the conflict risks hitting consumer pockets.
