Prime Minister Viktor Orban received a sobering reality check after an independent poll showed his party trailing by 20 points among decided voters ahead of Hungary’s April 12 election.
Such a result would give the opposition Tisza party of Peter Magyar a supermajority in parliament, allowing it to move quickly to reverse Hungary’s slide toward authoritarianism after 16 years of Orban rule.
