Investors’ latest challenge is working out what is going on with Greenland and what a potential split within NATO means for financial markets at a time when stocks are priced for perfection.

Right now, investors are taking some risk off the table. European stocks fell and S&P 500 contracts declined 0.8%, while the dollar weakened against most of its major peers. Gold and silver rallied to fresh records.
