Photographer: Dan Kitwood/Getty ImagesFlying back into London yesterday after a fascinating few days at Bloomberg HQ in New York, I was reflecting about how we Brits are so down on ourselves.
Wall Street currently fizzes with the excited hum of AI giga-profits, but even in the British drizzle, the Elizabeth Line slicing through immaculate train stations cuts a contrast to the sting of the $90 taxi ride at the NYC end. And even better — as I got on the train at Heathrow I heard some American accents a few seats down, remarking on how clean it all is.
