US Companies Keep Shedding Jobs

Photographer: David Paul Morris/BloombergUS companies fired employees or otherwise reduced payrolls last month by the most since early 2023, further accelerating a trend of job losses that’s plagued the Trump administration for much of its second term. Unemployment currently sits at 4.4%.
Private-sector payrolls decreased in November by 32,000, according to ADP Research data released Wednesday. Payrolls have now fallen four times in the last six months. The median estimate in a Bloomberg survey of economists called for a 10,000 gain.
