A lot of the discussion around the economy and tariffs this year has focused on the impact on consumer prices. But what about the effect on jobs? Or, put another way: Where are all the blue collar jobs that President Donald Trump promised would come with his new import taxes?

On the one hand, last week’s delayed release of September jobs numbers pointed to a slightly better than expected month with the US economy adding 119,000.
