Who Would Predict a 16% S&P Rally for 2026?

Gloom and doom, bursting bubbles and all manner of economic calamity. These seem to be the order of the day for many professional prognosticators, what with AI frenzies (more on that below), an unpredictable White House and a wider world resembling a powder keg ready to go off.
But not everyone sees it that way, and Morgan Stanley chief US equity strategist Michael Wilson is one of those exceptions. He’s become a bullish voice on US stocks, predicting a 16% rally for the S&P 500 Index over the next year. Wilson said he expects the benchmark to trade around 7,800 points by end-2026, with strong corporate earnings leading the way. And there are more than a few people on Wall Street betting the same way.
