Xi and Trump Dig In on Key Issues, Pushing Decoupling Further

Hi, this is Philip Glamann in Beijing, where the questions on everyone’s minds are whether Chinese leader Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump will actually meet next week and if they do, what will come of their talks.

While the sitdown — their first since Trump returned to the presidency — is set to take place on the sidelines of an APEC summit in South Korea, there’s still a chance it falls through. Trump did, after all, just back out of a chat with Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
