Investors are in good spirits today as President Donald Trump finally starts inking trade deals.
The pact between the US and Japan lifted global stocks to a fresh record and also sent risk-sensitive currencies up. Japan’s Topix Index rallied 3.2% to within a whisker of a record, with Toyota surging 14%, the most since 2008.
