After a two-hour phone call with Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump said Russia and Ukraine will “immediately” begin talks on ending the war. The US president called the tone and spirit of the conversation “excellent.” Earlier, Putin said Russia would work on a memorandum with Ukraine for a possible future peace treaty that would include “principles of a settlement.”
