“Liberation Day” is here. Donald Trump set a baseline 10% tariff on exporters to the US starting April 5, with higher duties planned for some nations starting April 9. Reciprocal measures on individual countries include 34% on China, 20% on the European Union and 24% on Japan. The president reiterated the US will impose a 25% levy on all foreign-made cars. Treasuries rebounded after the announcement.
