Barbie Hsu, a renowned Taiwanese pop star and actress, passed away while on a family vacation to Japan on Feb. 2, news that shocked the entire Chinese-speaking world during the recent Lunar New Year holiday. Hsu reportedly caught flu and then pneumonia, a double impact that proved fatal.
