Trump Tariff Playbook Starts With Price Increases for Manufacturers
If Trump follows through on tariffs for Mexican imports, industrial supply chains will be hit hard and companies will look to pass on that extra cost.
Trump has said he may put tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods by Feb. 1. Such levies would be significantly more disruptive for the US manufacturing supply chain than tariffs on Chinese imports.

There has been plenty of talk about tariffs but no one — including perhaps the Trump administration itself — seems to have clarity on what actions, if any, the US will actually take and what the timeline would be. The only thing manufacturers seem sure of is that if tariffs do come, their first response will be price increases.
