Canada Joins Nations Using Tariffs to Combat Chinese EV Imports

Facing an additional 100% tariff on the electric vehicles it exports to Canada, China pledged to take necessary steps to safeguard its interests and warned the decision by the government in Ottawa will disrupt global supply chains.

Canada joined the US and the European Union in imposing new duties on Chinese-made EVs, as well as import taxes on aluminum and steel.
