The chill wind of layoffs in technology and finance is blowing through Paris this week, as the combination of higher interest rates and meager economic growth spur the search for cost savings. Payment processing firm Worldline is looking to cut about 1,400 jobs, while banking group Societe Generale SA is planning about 900 cuts at its head office.
