Gulf Deals Draw Regulatory Scrutiny

As Gulf wealth continues to flow to all corners of the world, some jurisdictions are starting to scrutinize transactions more closely. Among them — the US and Britain, where governments are evaluating certain deals over national security concerns.

The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States is said to be reviewing more than half a dozen multibillion dollar deals involving Middle Eastern wealth funds, as part of a broader pushback on entities perceived to have close ties with China, Bloomberg reported.
