Romania is turning into a deals hotspot for Western Europe’s financial industry. UniCredit SpA and Intesa Sanpaolo SpA, Italy’s largest banks, are expanding their presence by gobbling up two lenders in the country, along with market share compared with less active rivals Societe Generale SA of France and Austria’s Raiffeisen Bank.
