Since the California Public Utilities Commission granted permission in August for two companies to expand their autonomous vehicle operations in San Francisco, the backlash against robotaxis has escalated, even as demand from riders has outpaced supply.

Today on CityLab, we bring you a pair of dueling op-eds.
