Mercedes-Benz Favors Supply Resilience in Open Global Markets

The CEO of Mercedes-Benz said a regional approach to supply-chain resilience is a worthwhile pursuit but not if it leads to a balkanized global economy given the interconnectedness of the auto industry.

“We learned in the pandemic that supply chains can be fragile, and to create some optionality and more resilience into your supply chains is generally a good thing for businesses,” Ola Källenius said in an interview with Bloomberg Television in New York.
