Swiss Face Dairy Dilemma as Cheese Is Set for First Trade Gap

Switzerland is sounding the alarm on one if its proudest exports: cheese.

“Imports and exports of cheese have over recent years always changed to Switzerland’s disadvantage,” dairy producers’ association Swissmilk said in its most recent market report. “For the first time in 2023, a negative trade balance is to be expected.”
