If anybody was talking about anything other than AI at this week’s Bloomberg Technology Summit in San Francisco, I didn’t hear it.

In an onstage interview at the summit, Sam Altman, the chief executive officer of ChatGPT creator OpenAI, somehow simultaneously hailed AI as the key to ending world poverty and the potential end of the human race.
