When I first heard the tip from my colleague Michelle Davis that Western Digital and Kioxia could be talking again about a merger, I thought “Here we go again.” Anyone covering deals in the past five years knows that Kioxia, formerly part to Toshiba, has been fodder for M&A, an IPO or both, with Western Digital always lurking in the background.
