Deciphering Spotify’s Ad Policy on Abortion Pills

A nonprofit attempted to advertise its website and abortion pills on the audio service.

In September, Mayday Health, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing information and resources about obtaining access to abortion pills, tried to run an audio ad on Spotify. A company representative rejected the ad at the time, saying it violated a policy that prohibits campaigns from mentioning “abortion products and services, abortion providers and pregnancy counseling.”
