Volume VI of the Atlas of Design

In 2010, the North American Cartographic Information Society (NACIS), an organization of professional and hobbyist cartographers, published its first Atlas of Design, featuring beautifully crafted maps. Since then, NACIS has been publishing a new volume of the atlas every two years. A team of judges goes through hundreds of submissions and handpicks 32 maps to be featured, each accompanied with a brief essay written by the mapmaker.

The sixth volume of the atlas just published, and we got to kvell over the maps and chat with three of the editors involved.
