UK’s Trade-Heavy Economy Heads Toward Recession in Global Slump

The global economic downturn took its toll on UK trade in September, with exports and imports both falling sharply.

The volume of goods shipped abroad dropped 4.8% during the month, official figures Friday showed. Imports, meanwhile, declined by 6.1%, the most since the start of 2021.
