Wells Fargo’s investment bank is having a good year, M&A-wise. It’s worked on big deals including Kroger’s $24.6 billion tie-up with rival grocery chain Albertsons and Broadcom’s $61 billion deal for VMware, firmly establishing it as a top-10 adviser in the M&A league tables. I caught up with global M&A head David DeNunzio, who was hired in 2016 from Credit Suisse to help build out Wells’ investment bank.—Matthew Monks
