Some international manufacturers have had it with sky-high shipping costs and empty shelves. So they’re bringing production back to the West.

While globalization for decades resulted in many industries moving to Asia to chase cheap labor costs, expenses for air and ocean freight alike have ballooned as a result of the pandemic, erasing much of the competitive advantage of producing in the Far East. Some companies don’t see that changing soon.
