Making a pasta dish at home is set to become more expensive in Italy, as prices paid by retailers and supermarkets are projected to rise by 38% by the end of January.

In order to reduce the impact of higher energy bills and cost of grain, some pasta producers have been forced to increase the wholesale price of dry pasta, Vincenzo Divella, chief executive officer of pasta company Divella, told newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore this week.
