In the 1993 movie “Groundhog Day,” a TV reporter played by Bill Murray gets trapped in a time loop that forces him to relive festivities that the small town of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, is famous for, over and over again. Re-watching the film recently, I couldn’t help but think of the global semiconductor shortage that’s hampered global car production.
