Russia’s Export Curbs Fail to Control Outbreak of Inflation

When it comes to fending off global inflationary pressures, it seems not even trade protectionism offers much protection.

In Russia, inflation is at the highest level in more than four years and isn’t yielding despite central bank interest-rate hikes and government-imposed measures that began late last year to ensure adequate domestic supplies, particularly of food, during the depths of the Covid pandemic.
