U.S. Meatpackers Are on Cusp of Getting Covid-19 Vaccines

With slaughterhouse workers among those next in line to receive Covid-19 vaccines in some U.S. states, JBS — the world’s biggest meat packer — is offering a $100 bonus to encourage employees to receive the shots.

JBS is planning a “massive” rollout of vaccines by early next month at its JBS USA and Pilgrim’s Pride facilities. Several U.S. states were nearing the so-called 1B phase in the vaccine program that includes frontline essential workers such as those at food plants.
