Europe’s initial reaction to the U.S.’s latest tariff move in the Airbus dispute is a mix of disappointment and mild relief that it wasn’t much worse.

The U.S. left 15% tariffs on aircraft imports, pushing Airbus shares down as much as 3.6%. Washington also left 25% tariffs on a range of European goods like wine, cheese and Scotch whisky. But it didn’t follow through on threats of levies as high as 100% and opted against new import taxes on British gin.
