David Hare’s new play Straight Line Crazy brings the much-hated master builder to life, in the form of Ralph Fiennes. And New Yorkers can’t get enough.
Once again, Robert Moses is having a cultural moment.
The controversial urban planner, who loomed large in the development of New York City for decades, has reemerged in the city’s consciousness, this time on stage in the play Straight Line Crazy, written by British playwright David Hare. After a run at the Bridge Theatre in London earlier this year, the New York production opens on Wednesday at The Shed, the performance space at Hudson Yards.
